Breast lift surgery (mastopexy) aims to correct and repair reduced skin elasticity and breast volume caused by weight loss, pregnancy, breast feeding and aging.
Breast lift surgery raises the breasts by removing the skin that is sagging due to loss of elasticity. However, if both sagging and volume loss are prominent, it is necessary to remove excess skin and place a silicone implant for volume support. Enlarged areolas around the nipple can also be reduced during this surgery. Breasts that have minimal sagging but prominent volume loss can be repaired just by placing silicone implants. It is also possible to correct the asymmetry of breasts during these procedures.
The main goal of breast lifting is to create a natural looking breast tissue that has restored volume and is raised, which results in a more defined cleavage. Simulation before surgery will give you an idea about the final outcome.
Breast lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia and has a duration of 1.5 to 3 hours depending on the technique to be employed. One day hospitalization is enough. It is important to use a medical bra for 4-6 weeks following surgery. It is possible to resume daily activities in 1 week and go back to the gym in 4-6 weeks.
